I was just taking a few short doses of metronidazole (the generic metronidazole brand name for Flagyl) for the first time. I was prescribed metronidazole 500mg twice a day for 2 weeks. The dose was 1 tablet twice a day for a total of 3 days.

I was prescribed metronidazole 500mg twice a day for 3 days. I did not have any side effects except for a couple of mild side effects that would be milder than what I’d ever experienced with the standard 500mg dose.

Before I got to this post, I should tell you that I am not an advocate of the idea of metronidazole. It was my belief that when you first begin taking the medication to begin with, the chances of getting a side effect, like nausea, stomach ache, or an upset stomach, are pretty high.

The first time I started taking Flagyl (which is also the generic name for metronidazole) I felt a mild, short-lived side effect. However, once I stopped taking it, I began feeling a mild, very mild side effect. I took Flagyl twice a day for 1 week and had no issues whatsoever. I stopped taking Flagyl on a Friday and began to feel better than ever!

I have read other opinions of mine regarding the use of metronidazole, but I’ve never seen any negative or negative side effects or experience to be as bad as they are. I’m not an expert in the topic, so I’m not a big fan of the idea that it is bad for you to use it.

The side effects I’ve experienced are mild and manageable. I take Flagyl twice a day for 5 days and my side effect was very mild.

I have also seen that some people experience mild side effects that tend to be less severe, but do not go down the same route.

This is not the only side effect of metronidazole that you should be aware of:

Metronidazole can cause the following symptoms:

  • Lowered or reduced sensitivity
  • Drowsiness
  • Trouble sleeping
  • Anemia
  • Dizziness
  • Stomach upset
  • Fatigue

The other thing that I do not like about this medication is that it can cause the following symptoms:

  • Blurred vision
  • Slight or moderate impairment in cognitive function

If you experience any of the above symptoms, contact your doctor right away.

I have not personally seen or heard any negative side effects of this medication. I have seen other people have side effects that were not as bad as I expected, and it may be a factor in their decision to take the drug.

I have not personally experienced any side effects of the above medication but I do have one thing to share about the drug: I have had a number of negative side effects when taking Flagyl (I’m not sure if the drug is bad for you), so I have not seen any negative side effects that are severe.

If I were to take metronidazole and take it to help me manage my side effects, I would be happy to have a discussion about this.

Flagyl is a brand-name prescription antimicrobial used to treat bacterial infections of the heart, blood, nervous system, gastrointestinal (GI) tract, lungs, joints, bones, and skin. Extended-release metronidazole is commonly prescribed to treat bacterial vaginosis and sexually transmitted infections such as trichomoniasis.

As an antimicrobial, Flagyl cannot be used to treat viral infections. If Flagyl is being used to treat a sexually transmitted infection (like trichomoniasis), both sex partners should use the medication simultaneously. This helps reduce the risk of reinfection in either partner. Antimicrobials stop the growth of harmful microorganisms in the body, so simultaneous use in both partners of metronidazole will help prevent the infection from living on and being passed between partners.

Flagyl is supplied as an oral tablet or extended-release capsule. It contains the drug metronidazole, which is available in generic form. Flagyl is only available via prescription from a licensed healthcare provider.
